Overview
Wright Career College was founded in 1921 in Kansas City to train typists for local businesses. Since then, it has grown to three campuses in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as Overland Park and Wichita, Kansas. The school offers a wide range of classes in the business, computer and medical training fields to prepare students for entry-level positions in some of today's most demanding and popular careers. Some of these careers include accounting, information technology systems, medical insurance coding and medical transcription.

The program's primary objective is to provide students with the skills, knowledge and tools necessary to start a new business or to be a more effective, entrepreneurial-thinking, employee for a business in today's dynamic, global society. When the student completes the program, the student will have a marketing plan and a business plan for a proposed new business. An understanding of e-commerce and the creation web page are also significant outcomes for the program. In addition general education classes increase the students' higher learning knowledge base as well as these classes' applied skills is integrated into other course work to meet the requirements for an Associate in Applied Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.

The purpose of this program is to ensure that students acquire knowledge of and the skills associated with basic accounting principles. Students take courses on topics keyboarding, business equipment, record keeping and professionalism. Graduates are prepared to assume entry-level roles in billing, payroll or accounts receivables.

This program prepares students for entry level positions as Administrative (Business) Medical Assistants in a doctor's office or other health care facility. It's a hands-on program, and students take courses on topics including medical terminology, medical office procedures, transcription, pharmacology, anatomy & physiology, clinical skills and communication.

This program prepares students for entry-level jobs as information managers. Students take courses to become highly proficient with office computer skills. Emphasis is placed on Microsoft XP, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and PageMaker in addition to fundamental math and English skills.

Graduates of this program earn an Associate in Applied Science degree. The goal of the program is to provide students with the necessary skills and training they need to apply for entry-level jobs as Information Technology Systems Administrators.

This program prepares students with a variety of skills required for entry level positions as Clinical Office Assistants in doctors' offices as well as other health care facilities. Students take courses on topics including medical terminology, medical office procedures, Pharmacology, Anatomy & Physiology and Clinical Skills.
- Medical Insurance CodingMedical Insurance Coding
In this program, students take courses on a wide variety of topics including medical terminology, medical office procedures such as insurance filing, billing and reimbursements. Students acquire knowledge of and experience with using medical coding including ICD-9 and CPT codes and HCPCS coding.
- Medical TranscriptionMedical Transcription
This program trains students in one of today's fastest growing careers. Students take courses in all aspects of medical terminology and abbreviations in order to transcribe reports using multiple formats and in a timely manner. Students also learn communication skills and medical office procedures. The program takes less than one year to complete.
- PC TechnicianPC Technician
In this program, students take courses on office computer skills, desktop support and professionalism. Emphasis is placed on skills and knowledge required to pass the A+ Certification Exam.

This program trains students to be Surgical Technicians, very important health professionals, who act as essential members of a team in any operating room. Students take courses on topics including medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures and surgical instrumentation.

The primary objectives of the Personal Training and Fitness program are to provide Career training. This program will give the learner the competencies and knowledge needed for planning and facilitating person wellness plans through exercise, nutrition and lifestyle.
