Overview
A two-year, public institution first chartered in 1958, Wake Technical Community College serves Wake County and is currently the second largest community college in North Carolina. It also offers online learning, with all elements taking place in a virtual alternative to the conventional brick-and-mortar classroom. As distance education continues to evolve as a popular path to a traditional education, Wake Tech strives to provide superior online learning in an environment that is as accessible to our diverse learning community as possible.

Student Appeal
Wake Tech's online learning programs feature the two most noteworthy attributes of such platform: flexibility and economic value. The online classes are appropriately created and delivered to take full advantage of best practices for group interaction, creative engagement, and beneficial instructor feedback. Students' own efforts determine the speed of their progress; thus, those who attend online as often as they can will complete their education faster than those who do not commit to the process. Financial aids such as Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and William D. Ford Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized loans are available to eligible students.
