St Petersburg College

Overview
St. Petersburg College opened its doors in 1927 as Florida's first community college. The school quickly expanded, merging with other junior colleges and becoming part of Florida's public college system. By the 1990's, SPC had 10 learning centers around the state; in the early 2000's it expanded its academic offerings to 24 baccalaureate programs. Along with its in-house degree programs, SPC now partners with other accredited private and public colleges, to offer 60 bachelor's degrees and 29 graduate programs.

Student Appeal
Possessing an associate's degree is great for your career, but having a bachelor's degree can really make a difference for career advancement and salary increases. St. Petersburg College offers numerous bachelor's programs for current AA or AS degree holders who would like to advance within their field or specialize in a particular area. In many cases, students already have the necessary hands-on skills through their associate's degree program, and can complete the bachelor's curriculum entirely online.

Accreditation
St. Petersburg College has regional accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
