This program supplies the necessary learning experiences to prepare student to become a licensed practical nurse. The coursework include classroom presentation, hands-on lab experiences, clinical training and practice in community, ambulatory care, hospital, and long-term care settings for a comprehensive development of students' knowledge and skills.
- Licensed Nursing AssistantLicensed Nursing Assistant
This 145-hour program enables graduates to offer quality care in settings such as private homes, rehabilitation centers, and acute care hospitals. BLS, adult, infant and child, AED training, OBRA regulations, Resident's Rights, and infection control are covered in the instruction, plus lab sessions and a 60-hour clinical externship at local long-term nursing care facilities.
- Patient Care TechnicianPatient Care Technician
The Patient Care Technician Program is a six hundred and three hour comprehensive program providing learning experiences which encompass the scope of practice of the Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist and Electrocardiographer. These experiences occur in the academic setting of Salter School of Nursing & Allied Health classrooms and laboratories, and, in a variety of health care settings within the community.
This program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to acquire confidence in direct care giving, successful collection, process and transport of laboratory specimens, and the administration of Electrocardiography techniques.
- PhlebotomyPhlebotomy
Through classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory experience, and clinical practice, this curriculum provides the skills necessary for students to successfully collect, process, and transport blood specimen as a prospective phlebotomist. Graduates are eligible for the NHA Exam, the cost of which is included in the tuition.
- Surgical TechnologySurgical Technology
This program is designed to prepare the student with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to gain employment as a surgical technician. Students will study all aspects within the field of preoperative services, including medical law and ethics, preoperative environments, pharmacology, sterilization, anatomy and physiology, sterile technique OSHA regulations, anesthesia, instrumentation, communication skills, medical terminology, and procedures within the medical specialties.
The institution is accredited by ACICS. The LPN program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
