Overview
For more than 60 years, Salter College has offered private education to students desiring a career in the fields business, computers and health care. Programs include Associate Degrees and Certification programs from instructors who are carefully selected with a broad range of interests pertaining to each particular field of study. Campuses are located in Worcester (West Boylston) and Chicopee Massachusetts.

Student Appeal
Practical experience and hands-on training are two of the reasons many students choose to attend this quality school. In addition to the classroom learning, many externship programs offer the ideal opportunity to make a smooth transition into the workforce while improving job skills. The staff at the school also provides individualized career counseling and placement services for life. Financial
Qualified students have access to a variety of financial aid programs, scholarships and grants. Much of the aid is awarded through federal programs like Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants and Federal Stafford Loans. Each student's situation is taken into consideration and evaluation is made on a case-by-case basis. Students can fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and present it to the school so the financial aid experts can put together a package that meets each student's needs.

    This program prepares students for working as an assistant controller, office manager, bookkeeper or assistant in a variety of professional settings. The course improves decision-making skills and focuses on the basics of business and communication needed to succeed in an office setting.
  • Office AdministrationOffice Administration
    Concentration: Executive, Legal, or Medical Students in this program get an intensive study concerning all aspects of running an office environment smoothly. From bookkeeping to human relations, the course provides a well-rounded curriculum to cover almost any situation. Students can choose to focus on an executive, legal or medical study.
  • Medical AssistingMedical Assisting
    Instructors offer several courses that focus on medical assisting in a private practice, clinic or hospital setting. With externships and hands-on training, students transition into their new job without any trouble.

A combination of laboratory, hands-on training and academic experiences provide a well-rounded experience for culinary students.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
    The Emergency Medical Technician program is designed to prepare the student for an exciting career in the pre-hospital setting of patient care. Students are provided an opportunity to gain practical experience in patient care through program specific courses that provide in-depth knowledge in areas such as hazardous materials, incident management and driver training. General education courses will provide fundamental knowledge of human pathophysiology and disease.
  • Massage TherapyMassage Therapy
    Students get comprehensive training in this rapidly growing health field. Focus is placed on the art and science of body massage. Once the course is completed, students often get jobs in places like physical therapy practices, hotels, chiropractic clinics, cruise ships, nursing homes and many other places.
  • Medical AssistingMedical Assisting
    This course offers an education to help students desiring to enter the medical profession. Classroom teachings include everything from clinical skills (drawing blood, administering medication, etc.) to office skills and working with physicians. Human relations are also a focus so students learn how to deal better with patients on a daily basis.
  • Medical Billing & CodingMedical Billing & Coding
    This program offers training in billing and coding for the healthcare profession. Diagnostics, record management and terminology are the main focuses of classroom training and experiences. Students go on to work in clinics, hospitals, insurance companies and private medical practices after completing the course.
