    New England College (NEC) offers a bachelor's degree completion program designed specifically for individuals who want to advance their careers in healthcare. The program offers the healthcare professional an opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration entirely online. Students primarily enter the program with an associate's degree or the equivalent credit (60+/-).

    Bachelor in Healthcare Administration students will acquire the following skills:

    1. Understand current organizational theory and apply it to contemporary healthcare issues.
    2. Identify leadership qualities unique to the healthcare professional and show how to apply them in supervisory and managerial situations.
    3. Recognize current public and community health issues and their impact on healthcare leaders.
    4. Understand contemporary financial management and economic issues in healthcare and recognize and apply analytical tools to relevant problems.
    5. Demonstrate problem-solving and communication skills by applying leadership concepts in an investigative research project.
  • Master of Arts in Public Policy Master of Arts in Public Policy

    The New England College Master of Arts of Public Policy program prepares students for future opportunities in government, non-profit organizations, or the political process itself. The program concentrates on the intersection between abstract policy and real world politics. Students will gain an understanding of the intellectual foundations for key public policy discussions and how the outcomes affect and change in political process.

    Students will gain analytical and advocacy skills and will be prepared for advancing in the public, private, and non¬‐profit sectors. The public policy program integrates the student's professional experience, small group dialogue, and on‐your-own time online learning that provide participants with an experiential foundation for growth in their particular field.

    The NEC Master of Arts in Public Policy is a 36‐credit hour program that can be completed on a part¬‐time basis in two years. Lecturers are comprised of visiting scholars, political professionals, and recognized faculty that foster a learning environment that combines real world experience and academic excellence.

  • Master of Science in Health InformaticsMaster of Science in Health Informatics

    The selection, adoption, implementation, and integration of health informatic programs and processes has been identified as one of the major challenges that healthcare organizations face today. The Master of Science in Health Informatics degree program from New England College is a 36-credit online degree program that prepares students to address this evolving issue.

    The program is designed for individuals with clinical backgrounds (nurses and pharmacists, among others), that have become increasingly involved in managing the health informatics arena. The program targets professionals with varying levels of experience and technical proficiency who work in health informatics in healthcare institutions and need to develop management skills.

    As a result of completing this program, students will:

    1. Apply leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills and concepts to identify, analyze and creatively solve complex organizational problems connected to the design and implementation of health informatics systems;
    2. Comprehend the challenges and opportunities of working effectively with other people across a wide array of departments, outside vendors, and individuals with diverse backgrounds who interact with health informatics systems;
    3. Understand the main principles and practices of healthcare data management and how information technology and systems can help interpret and use biomedical information across departmental units.
    4. Apply a broad range of interpersonal and project management skills to design processes and design and implement team and group projects to optimize performance;
    5. Develop expertise in all business aspects of health informatics: this includes departmental design and management, capital and operating budgeting, the art of the budget planning process, infrastructure design and strategic planning.
  • Master of Science in Management (Healthcare Admin concentration)Master of Science in Management (Healthcare Admin concentration)

    The Master of Science in Management - Healthcare Administration program will provide you with a robust management degree in healthcare and prepare you for future opportunities in various healthcare institutions, hospitals and long-term care facilities. Our students come from a variety of healthcare backgrounds including nurses, physicians, technicians and administrators (CFOs and CIOs). You will examine topics such as managerial economics in healthcare, marketing management in healthcare and organizational communication, conflict resolution and negotiation.

    Oriented to the needs of both the emerging and newly established healthcare leader, the comprehensive curriculum offers both quantitative and qualitative courses, all taught by established healthcare leaders.

    As a result of completing this program students will:

    1. Understand the interrelationships among stakeholders in the healthcare industry and the moral implications and social effects of the healthcare organization and its decisions
    2. Lead and influence situations where financial issues play a key role
    3. Use strategic thinking and planning to evaluate options for funding operations and strategic decision-making
    4. Apply economic reasoning to internal decision-making and public policy issues affecting the healthcare sector
    5. Develop an understanding of marketing principles and practices as they apply to the healthcare industry
    6. Focus on the ability to maximize the use of scarce resources
