King College was founded amidst the turmoil of the Civil War in Southern Appalachia, matriculating its first students and beginning classes under the Reverend and founding president James Doak Tadlock in 1867. The Presbyterian-affiliated institution now offers online graduate programs in business administration and information technology. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing for registered nurses (RN-BSN) online degree program provides the ideal educational opportunity for registered nurses who want to advance their education by earning a BSN in a convenient and flexible format. A nursing diploma or an Associate of Science degree with a major in nursing, and a registered nurse license in the state of Tennessee (or multi-state) are required for enrollment.
The RN-BSN program at King College may be completed in as little as 16 months and is designed as a transformational learning experience leading to personal and professional skill development to meet the needs of Registered Nurses previously prepared at the ADN or diploma level.
The RN-BSN degree is delivered ENTIRELY ONLINE. However, clinical aspects of the NURS 4010 & 4210 courses involve participation in a community service assignment and implementing a change project in the work environment respectively.
