Overview
Originally founded in 1820, Indiana University established the School of Continuing Studies in 1975 to serve the academic needs of adult learners in Indiana and around the world. It has since created an extensive network of academic programs online, boasting more than 160 undergraduate independent study courses and more than 100 high school independent study courses. The goal is to harness the resources of Indiana University in multi-campus, multi-institutional, and virtual partnerships leading to delivery of academic programs, professional development and training, and personal enrichment in ways that serve the needs of lifelong learners, regardless of location or situation in life. With programs on each Indiana University campus, as well as university-wide offices offering high school, undergraduate, and graduate distance education programs, the School of Continuing Studies providing services to address the academic needs of nontraditional adult learners, availing flexible options to broaden the opportunities for beyond its campuses.
Student Appeal
Students of the school's online programs are able to complete their degree, diploma, and courses entirely at home. Indiana University is renowned for the quality of its courses, instructors, and advisors. Students can register for courses or apply to the Indiana University High School diploma program at any time of the year.
Financial
Federal Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loan, Parent/Graduate PLUS Loan, Pell Grant, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) are available to eligible students.
